Watercolour painting with bright colours, showing a girl in a pink summer long dress and hat with a ribbon standing on a tiled veranda. The veranda is full of all shades of pink flowers, rose or geranium trellis and green sword foilage in the pot on the left. The girl is holding on the terracotta mediterranean parapet. She is absorbed staring at big blue view in front of her, the blue sea and the blue clear sky with white clouds. Her white bag is sitting on the tiled floor in the lower left of a natural coloured bamboo armchair with a red cushion. She looks to be a guest in this mediterranean balcony, taking an opportunity to stand up from the seat her host offered her to enjoy the views. Maybe the host is inside the villa.The airy dress and the hat fill the painting with an atmosphrere of nostalgia and balanced soft powers. Nature and human behaviour in calmness and admiration.

The painting is showcased for depth and protection behind glass, in quality cream mount with bordeau frame and then
white mount and simple ornate gold and brown classic frame. At the back on the backing board the painting carries a custom personalised sticker labelled: ORIGINAL PAINTINGS BY HELENA DONALD ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE OF THE ARTIST (available for clients to view on request).

The frame of 2.7 cm width is of beautiful brown chestnut colour
decorated with an aesthetic line pattern of the same colour and inside finished with an artistic gold 4mm thick line.

Helena Donald lived in Purley Peaks Hill, Surrey near Woodcote. Mlary Zagoritou Gallery has 3 paintings of the artist, two of them depicting women. Drawing inspiration from her travels and nature of the land around her, Helena Donald works in watercolour to recreate the atmosphere of the human interaction with the coastline in the Mediterranean and the wild interior of this wonderful county, such as the Surrey Downs .
